sorry all my blip pals for lack of comments - I'm out of blip synch just now but will be catching up soon
a lot has happened today - I know that this is true of most days but most days I don't think too intensely about the lot that has happened.
We had our first open viewing of the flat and I had set myself some work to do in the viewing time to distract me from what I thought would be a vacuous emptiness of no-one coming to see our house. The first 'job' was to start writing up an account of The Kitchen Lectures and in particular the performance that took place on Friday. I decided that it would be most appropriate to use the viewing times to do this and so far it reads a bit like a script/descriptive narrative of the time waiting on viewers - however, it also includes the interruptions accounted for by the viewers - yes, there were people who came to see the flat. At this point I am quite happy with the way this piece is going.
The image above is a moment caught of me and Alice watching an excerpt of a Vito Acconci piece called 'Theme Song' from 1973. I have made it black and white, in keeping with the original film.
And this evening we also hosted our third Kitchen Lecture. It was a lecture on 'arty types' a very clever and considered account of the different stereotypes or perhaps just types of artists represented in film - a combination of documentary and film - in particular hollywood representations. It was great and I will explain more at some point in the future.
