Take me uncle CJ

This is my niece. Sophie. She so reminds me of my Popz 18 years ago!

I was out the front of her (glorious) house early evening as what she refers to as their 'third' garden was so beautiful, I was wanting to show you it's beauty and the front elevation of their chocolate box farmhouse in the depths of Kent. It is truly idyllic.

But as soon as she was aware I had my camera out, she was there, showing me her cartwheels, which were very good and very upright. I got a few good ones. She's not exactly shy in coming forwards for a photograph. She even insisted on taking some of me. She did a good job!

Then there was a classic 'from the mouths of babes' moment, where after lots of frivolity, there was something that had been praying on her mind, so in her most serious and inquisitive voice, she suddenly said..."Uncle,....",
"Yes darling?" I said, expecting that I had over the years gained her absolute trust and was about to hear one of her inner most secrets...
"....why is half you beard white and the other half brown?"
I laughed and told her to just wait a few years and it would be all white, like Father Christmas'.
Her eyes widened in delight despite not having had a straight answer to her query, swiftly followed by an urgent request for a photograph of her in front of their third garden. This is the result. No art direction needed for this wee girl!

PS - Talking of Sophie and Father Christmas, late last year on their annual visit to FC, Sophie rushed forward to see Santa with her brother, stood in front of him and said forthrightly,..."I'm Sophie and this is my brother Ollie. I been good, not for the past year, but the past 2 years!....it better be good!"
