Fig?

We have this tree thing in our garden, and when Mom aka Flowers for anyone and Dad visited us in January we were informed that it was a fig tree....apparently. Dad even tried to cook it. It ended up syrupy and toffee like...They seemed to like it, strange people :-p

I shall be honest with you, I've no idea what a fig is! Alls I know is in the summer its a big green bush type thing that attacks you, right now the cold has reduced it to a twig with a fig!
