I met lovely Tash at the conference, a vet nurse at Australia Zoo. She very kindly invited me to spend the end of my holiday with her and behind the scenes at Steve Irwin's massive creation.
The wildlife hospital is state of the art and treats hundreds of native animals and birds every year. I was very lucky to have a sneak peak at the work they do and animals they treat.
I'm never to certain about zoos but can safely say Australia Zoo is a massive educational and conservational force, and whose staff are so knowledgeable about their native wildlife it is truly humbling.

This kangaroo is healthy and fine just waiting to be released!
