Blackbird

Before today, I'd never heard
of white whiskers on a black bird.

Well, I have seen piebald patches on blackbirds before, but these little white whiskers by the blackbird's beak seem unusual and are so charming. Didn't see them till I looked at the photo, which is one of several I took of this and other blackbirds today.

Apologies about the sparsity of comments today - our router's stopped working, so having to upload this on a mini-laptop with a dongle connection. Not very easy to type on this tiny keyboard.
