Life with our boys

Packing Up and Heading Home

Today we packed up and headed home. I can honestly say we were NOT ready to come home and would love to stay and enjoy natures beauty and relax a couple more days. We even checked last night with the Park Rangers to see if our campsite was available another night or two but as we figured it was not.

We had a wonderful time here and are already planning our return trip next summer over the 4th of July. As friends we all grew closer and as a family we enjoyed the quality time we got to spend with one another. We relaxed a lot, had plenty of good conversation, ate WAY TOO MUCH, enjoyed evening campfires, hikes, bike rides and playing in the water. It was a good time had by all.

On our way home we stopped here, in the small town of Joseph. This town resembles something out of a movie. It's beauitful, tiny and everyone knows their neighbor. We had breakfast at a small local diner and when we walked in it felt like time had stood still. Older gentelmen sitting drinking coffee and discussing crops and the economy with their old friends all stopped and eyed us as we opened the door. It was clear we weren't "locals". There weren't any open tables so we were offered to sit along side some of the locals at their table however before we could accept or decline, two older men offered us their table as they were going to leave soon anyway. We had a wonderful homemade style breakfast then were on our way. I highly recommend stopping in this beautiful town if you are ever in the area.

We endured a 7 hour drive home and I have to admit the boys did really well. Now it's on to the gruelling part of unpacking and laundry. I'm pretty sure laundry alone will take me a week to get caught up on!
