Front Row Seats

Fpr several hours this evening, we were treated to a procession of Tall Ships departing from the Clyde to sail up the West Coast to Lerwick for their next race. It was rather hazy for some of the time, so I had to choose between this shot and those taken later in brilliant late evening light.

I decided on this one because it also illustrates how involved with the Tall Ships the people of Arran and their visitors have been this past week. People were scattered all along the shore, garden chairs and picnic suppers at the ready, cameras, binoculars and telescopes on standby.

And of course, any excuse for a shot of Ailsa Craig.
