Right attitude, Wrong gear
The skies cleared today, so there was no way I was going to waste an opportunity to venture out on my bike. I fancied a slight change however, so planned a 22 mile mountain bike/hicking combination.
With a route devised, I rushed home after work to gear up and get my steed ready. I packed well; taking enough food & water, tools & spares, thermal layer, map, compass, camera, med kit.
I overlooked one small thing - appropriate footwear. So once the route got too steep, rocky and muddy, and I was forced to ditch the bike, my heels started battling with my Shimano cycle shoes.
I think it's clear from the photo who the victor was. At least the medkit came in handy.
