British Summers?
Saw this new variety of soup in the supermarket on Monday, and being a sucker for pesto, I bought a couple of cartons. It was only when I was opening it on Tuesday evening to have for our tea that I noticed the scarf illustration wrapped round it - and then the words "Fresh for winter" across the front and "stay warm..." round the side. I couldn't help but chuckle at the fact that "winter" food was now on sale in the shops. I know our summers haven't been great in recent years but really?!
I would have taken a photo of it on Tuesday but I wanted a picture of a Tall Ship to mark that day. Then today I ended up doing nothing much of interest - mostly pottering about in my study, trying to tidy it up a bit (useless exercise - my efforts haven't made a dent in the mess). The sun was blazing outside, and I think this must have been one of the hottest days we've had this year. I remembered these cartons and their "stay warm" instruction, so I dug them out of the paper & cardboard recycling bin (hence the stains) and took a snap.
"Stay warm"? It was impossible to do anything else today. What a scorcher!
