Today's the day ........................ to count my blessings

Went to Preston today on a training course that was held in a building that used to be a church. The conversion (haha) had been done very well but the room we were in had no windows to the outside. So it was a day spent in a stuffy atmosphere with no hint of the glorious day that was happening outside.

It would be fair to say that Preston itself is not a town of any great beauty so I was more than a little relieved to find myself on the train back to Kendal at the end of a hard-working day.

Will met me at Kendal station and we went out for a quick drink in the Punch Bowl Pub at Underbarrow. We sat outside in the evening sun surrounded by wonderful lakeland scenery - and I counted my blessings for the umpteenth time that we are lucky enough to live in such a lovely part of the country .....................
