In memory of May

Greenock today to attend the funeral of a good woman; mother of a close friend and fellow Blipper, wife and friend to many.

This lady overcame a life threatening condition in early life, and survived to raise 4 children who are all now in middle age. She fought the cancer that eventually took her with some aplomb, beating the medical experts' predictions of life expectancy by two years - not bad going!

She put up with her son and me regularly rolling in to her house at stupid o'clock, full of beer, and disturbing her household by noisily making tea and toast. One on memorable occasion putting on a brave face as I re-decorated her down stairs loo after having a little too much to drink...

Here's hoping there's more to this world than what we can see...
