"SHE SAW SEA SHELLS..."
...but NOT on the sea shore!
I picked a great day to have a day off (well done me)! The weather in London was glorious, and I spent a lot of time travelling around with my camera - Westminster - Southwark - Greenwich. This blip was taken in Borough Market - as regular commentators know, I LOVE that place!
While I was in the vicinity, I wandered over to the nearby Southwark Cathedral for a bit of a rest... Only to find a rather boisterous game of football going on in the grounds! The budding Premier League players were in their early teens, running around with great energy, encouraging each other as well as hurling good natured abuse at the opposition! It was all good fun, and they came quite close, on occasion, to where I was sitting. They were unfailingly polite when the ball came too close to me, and a couple of times, they asked if I was OK. The responsible adults with them warned them to be mindful, and as I was leaving, I made sure that I told the teacher / group leader that they had indeed minded their manners and been very courteous. He looked shocked, surprised and then delighted.
A great day.
