Good Friends

Today has been a mixture of co-incidences, a nice little surprise and a very sad email...

The B&B is busy this week ... we had one couple from New South Wales, Australia leave this morning and another couple arrive tonight who live about 50 miles from them - co-incidence no. 1

Said Arriving Australians arrived in UK and have been staying in Kirkbymoorside for a few nights where my other half lived for many, many years - co-incidence no.2

Another set of guests arrived en-route to Newcastle ... my home town - co-incidence no.3

The wallpaper (background) on my laptop above is a photo taken by a very talented chef at the Minffordd Hotel in Wales whom I 'met' on Tiwitter - I liked the picture so much that he re-sized it for me and emailed it to me so that I could use it - nice little surprise - thank you Darren, you're a star :O)

Had an email from a very good friend of ours giving us an update on her husband's health ... shingles has completely destroyed the retina in one eye and doctors are battling to save the eyesight in the other - very sad email

My OH and I are sad - life is often cruel and to rob such a wonderful person so cruely when they were just looking forward to enjoying their retirement ... thinking of them both.
