Wet Coast
Literally. You can see the rain in the distance. And it has been raining ot threatening to for a couple of days. Cold and windy.
We had a wild ride across the Strait of Georgia! 18 knots of wind most of the way and we sailed on a close reach averaging about 7 knots of boat speed. A quick ride. ;-)across a 25 mile stretch of open water. There were VERY few of us out there and all of us were timing our passages to slack water at one of three passes into the Gulf Islands.
The wind was blowing from the south. This view was taken looking north past Nanaimo to Texada Island. If you look closely you can see a tug and its tow on the far horizon. The sky was stellar. I love the drama. Great watching the weather all around you. The heavy dark clouds were the most spectacular I have seen in many years.
