Blazing Colour

This blaze of colour is an Alstroemeria, or Peruvian Lily which, not surprisingly, comes from South America. This specimen doesn't come from anywhere so exotic, but is in a south-facing border in our garden in Peebles.

This was taken in the evening sun. The sheer luminescence of the petals is incredible.
