Greasy monkey - Carmageddon

Excellent morning swim with Callum and lots of reading at home in the afternoon. Thinking about tomorrow's Bridal & Boudoir workshop.

Everyone preparing for Carmageddon, one of the largest ever closures of freeway, this being the infamous 405. Imagine, the freeway we tackle every day just to go to preschool, twice the width of the M25 closing for 10 miles through a gap in the mountains for 53hrs as part of a general restructuring for additional car pool lanes (HOV).

I briefly headed marketing communications for Transport for London before moving to the US and couldn't help but write to them asking for a longer term strategy towards transport than ever more mountain carve up. A light rail has shown to be used very effectively to wind up from the lot to the Getty Center and whilst of course it provides the challenge of citing a huge lot either side of the pass, both in LA and San Fernando Valley, it begs to be executed. The other interesting fact is that in London, my home town, living walking distance to a railway or light rail station is a selling point, whereas in LA it's a negative.

Callum thought he'd help out too with his power tools...

Natural light, bedroom.

PS Thanks tnahlyn for the title!
