Castles and gates

Where we live in Pembrokeshire, traditional gate posts (when not made from a single large stone) are often elaborate stone constructions sometimes known as 'gate castles'. Here though, north of Machynlleth, is a set of gate castles worthy of the name to the point of parody. They, and the wall connecting them, have seen better days, sadly.
