Headbands

I recently helped a friend make a small Japanese binding for her poems. For the decorative sewing along the spine I dug out the silk threads I used to use for bookbinding. Apart from working with the leather, my favourite part in the process of making a book was sewing the headbands. Choosing the right colours could really illuminate the binding.
