Couldn't you just drown in these eyes? Alf hasn't had the best start in life, but I hope now he has a home for life, he feels happy and settled and content. I can't imagine him letting me get this close to him with a scary camera 2 years ago!

Lime came home late afternoon yesterday. He was so glad to be back and I'm so proud of the way he took the whole ordeal of going to the vets in his stride. The vets have narrowed the cause of lameness down to palmar foot pain and coffin joint pain. Thankfully the x-rays showed that he has no joint damage and no signs of arthritis so the prognosis is good. All down to a foot imbalance. With a bit of r&r, remedial shoeing and some pain relief he should come sound. I spoke to the vet about our sponsored ride and she said don't cancel it just yet so there is still a chance he could come right by then. Please keep your fingers crossed for us.

Had a bit of a frustrating day. Tired and a bit hungover after Mr EG's boss's leaving do last night. Planned to do too much and didn't really manage to get anything done. Nice walk with the pups in Swithy woods this afternoon though, once the torrential rain had finally eased off.
