Sunshine on a rainy day..
So pleased it was a reasonable day weather wise today - there has been a bit of rain but not much and not enough to stop the Farm Open Day. Very relieved for Sara who organises it all, she must have been panicking yesterday when it rained solidly till gone 4pm.
There was a bit of everything on offer, tractor & trailer rides, fire engine, London bus, gun dog demonstration, dog agility competition (run by our next door neighbour) kids showjumping challenge. The local bellringers were there, mini petting zoo (ok, 2 sheep and a couple of ferrets!) Pimms (by the pint!) & cider tent, bbq with locally produced sausages & burgers and lots of suppliers had tasters on offer. There was also a beekeeper giving talks about his work and someone down at the little lake giving an introduction to fishing.
Every labrador, spaniel and collie for miles around must have been here, never seen so many in one place. There was a gorgeous chocolate labrador puppy, made me want a dog!
The farm shop was really busy so hopefully they will have made some money today and also got some new customers who will come back again.
My blip photo is the field of sunflowers growing just behind the farm shop - struggled to choose between this and this one for my blip.
