The Painted Lady
I took a few shots before we sat in the garden and released the butterflies into the wild. I had to calm Alex down as he wanted to keep the butterflies for longer, but he was placated when I explained that they would be much happier flying around outside as the net they were kept in just wasn't big enough for them.
We took the net into the garden, sat together (me, Alex and Becky) around the net and opened the zip. Then, one by one, the butterflies discovered freedom and we waved goodbye to them. No doubt anyone walking along the back lane overhearing our voices, or a neighbour seeing us from an upstairs window thought we were nuts, but the kids were happy.
