Packing
well, as the blip might suggest, clearly not.
I just can't do it, pack in advance. Something in my DNA just says, no, packing is for the evening before and possibly roundabout midnight. So I've urged the girls to pack (i.e. to tell me which t-shirts, skirts, pants etc they want to take along) and I've got their stuff and whatever comes to my mind in an ikea bag waiting to be packed or looked through again. Since we've got a washing machine where we're going and I'm anticipating good weather with lows of 20 degrees I'm not really worried about not taking enough clothes, I'm more worried about taking too many. So in my head I'm packing for myself and occasionaly I'm putting one piece of clothing into the bag but the bags will be packed tomorrow after I'm back from my Pilates and holiday drink afterwards, i.e. probably by 10pm.
A bit like essay writing a friend suggested and yes, that seems to fit very well. In my head I would prepare thoughts etc but I would only write when really necessary. So, instead of packing or doing anything else now I'm blipping and then I'll go to bed to finish my book before my holidays. At least all the stuff is washed and most of the rooms are tidy.
We were just discussing an idea how we could make this flat work for us a little longer and who knows, after the holidays we may put that plan into action. It may well be necessary since L will want to have her own room having had one for the whole of her holidays. It includes decluttering on a big scale but if it means staying where we are I may well take that as an incentive rather than a punishment...
