Beads.

These are the Mardi Grais beads that hang on my closet doorknobs. I've had them for a couple of years. Whenever the closet door opens or closes, the beads hit one another and the door. It makes quite the racket. This noise is not appreciated when my cat goes into my closet at night. I wake up to that noise, and suddenly the doorway to Monster's Incorporated is open.
My boyfriend can't stand the beads. The noise is extremely irritating to him.
I love the beads. There are so many different shapes and lengths!
