Journey Through Time

Meet Mr. Lincoln

This is our rose, and this is the hardest rose to photograph!! I keep trying and I am about done trying to get this rose to look pretty in an image! This is my husband's favorite rose. It has a beautiful fragrance, a luscious deep red color and a fairly decent tea rose shape. Then it blooms out and is gone, just like that. Like the real Mr. Lincoln, it doesn't stick around long enough. And maybe because of that deep red color, I have had a heck of a time to get it to look pretty.

I went to see Harry Potter, and The Deathly Hallows today. I enjoyed the film, and they did a good job of bringing it all to a satisfying conclusion. It's been awhile since I read the book but I remembered it as it went along. It is a complicated bit of story telling and there was a young boy with his dad and I asked him after the movie if he liked it. He said he did. I image it will be a lot like my son when we took him to see Star Wars for the first time. He was only 5 I think, when that movie came out. He didn't understand any of the story line, but that didn't matter one bit to him. He was mesmerized. And after seeing the movie 8 times that summer (or so it seemed to me), the story became imbedded into his DNA. The youngster at today's movie reminded me of that.
