Deja Vu
This place seems to have become our default landing spot when we return to Toronto.
Just like here, we rested ourselves and refueled our empty stomachs with poutine and veggie burgers. There was even the added bonus of a Thai market this time around.
This central area of town is not the greatest selling point for what I think is a vastly underrated city.
Toronto is awash with character-filled subdivisions and thoughtful regeneration, plus plenty of green spaces and street art galore.
The wonderfully historical City Hall though vies desperately for attention amid some plain ugly structures that were seemingly designed by the world's most boring architect. Their sympathetically being kept the same colour as the hall only seems to push that building further into the background.
All of this is overlooked from behind by the mirrored frontage of large modern skyscrapers.
In the park area itself, the homeless dig enthusiastically in trash cans, whilst teenage punks shout loudly at each other and children paddle merrily in the water feature.
Like Toronto or not, you certainly won't get bored here
Sidenote: Tim, who we just spent the week with at Fenelon Falls, was so taken by the idea of being a Blipper that he's kicked off his own blip, Tim's Wizard Adventures.
