The Big Butterfly Count

Different Peacock Butterfly shot, wasn't sure which one was best but I liked how this one made it look so proud and magnificent!

The sun was out again today but showers predicted for about 1pm so we had made plans to meet up with my SIL and 2 nephews again. The bird and butterfly list I printed out for them last week was a big hit so I thought we would take the opportunity to do the Butterfly Count today.

We found a fabulous spot at Foots Cray Meadows, spotting lots of Gatekeepers (many getting jiggy!), small whites, speckled woods, a comma, small heaths, 2 red admirals, some small coppers, a brown angus and of course my personal favourite, the Peacock Butterfly

We finished the day with a picnik and a little dip in the river!

The clouds are rolling in now, the rain is coming, but we've had a fabulous day!
