Bananas First Crop

I have a lot to learn about gardening in this part of the world. In Scotland I would rarely look at a gardening book, and was relatively succesful in the local flower show competition.
But I never grew bananas in Scotland, or mandarins, grapefruit, lemons, persimmons( I'm not sure what to do with a persimmon ) and feijoas etc.
I can't take credit for these or the others as they were all in the garden when we moved in a few weeks ago. However, I am going to eat them !
