Outdoor concert misery...

Today was spent 5 hours drive away from home in a field doing a fireworks concert. During the whole three hour rehearsal in the afternoon two helicopters were giving rides to the public about 200 metres from the stage so no one could hear a thing.
At the end of the concert during the predictable 1812 overture 4 real cannons just to the left of the stage were set off. The noise was devastating and felt like an assault on the body not just the ears, in the words of one colleague. They have promised it won't happen again next year..........
