Men@Work
5 weeks the sign said.
Starting on 5th June for 5 weeks to fix the major water leak going on in our bit of the town.
Slowly, painfully slowly, the men have made progress along the road, carving it up, laying pipes, filling in the holes then tarring it too.
Subsequently, the 5 has disappeared from the sign and now we're just left in limbo. It will be finished when it's finished.
At least the workmen are hard at it....not! First sign of my camera and they are all posing, waving and generally mucking about.
This is the classic 'workie' pose; leaning on rake-thingy, grinning inanely.
Oh well, nothing for it but to be friendly, seeing as they will be in the neighbourhood for the foreseeable future.
Talking of progress, Mr G went to visit a school today that would appear to be the school of Claire's dreams.
Small school with small classes and all one level (tick)
An Eco school, including a wind turbine that powers the ICT suite (tick)
Friendly staff with lots of experience in ASD and Sensory issues (tick)
Flexible rules on uniforms i.e girls can wear trousers (tick)
and last but not least..............
Ex Bat Chickens roaming around, they even pop into the classrooms when the doors are open!! (Mr G couldn't believe his eyes when he saw that)
It would appear to tick most of our boxes too.
Glowing Ofsted report and league table results and most importantly a willingness to accommodate Claire's needs.
I'm going to get a chance to see it for myself on Friday and have a look at some other schools for comparison.
Fingers crossed.
