Tuesday: Watford Gap (North Thereof)

Yes, we have ventured north of the Watford Gap.  For those living outside of the UK, the Watford Gap, just north of London marks the beginning of the territory referred to on motorway signs as 'The North'.  Heading on the motorway in the other direction, you get what is loosely just called 'The South'.  Bizarrely, we don't have similar signs for 'The East' or 'The West'.....why is that?

Anyhoo, the reason for us being up north (Bridlington, in East Yorkshire to be exact) is that our friend, Phil, turns 40 today.  His lovely other half, Liz, has arranged a surprise trip for him at a cottage.  Various family members and friends have all piled up here to surprise him so we are here for a couple of days to help him celebrate in style.

Had a lovely barbecue this evening - not spoiled by the fact that it has peed down all day!  Unfortunately, no photos of the surrounding countryside yet.....it has been far too dismal.

Yesterday, I referred to bringing my dongly bit with me.  I had several questions about my dongly bit......in short, it is a plug in device for a lap top which ensures mobile connection.  And I do declare it is working........as testifed by the fact that I am currently crouched over my lap top, in remote parts!  I am feeling quite techy!

I hope you will forgive me for my non-existent commenting while we are on travels.
