Back to Reality...
Back blipped
Normally the day after I come back from holiday I am quite grumpy (hard to believe, I know! :)) All that washing and unpacking and that trying to get organised for back to work (although I'm very lucky in that I'm not back at work till next Monday) tends to sap my positive energy. Particularly when wondering how on earth I am going to get all the washing dried, as the rain batters on the window!
Today though, I woke in a very good mood. Got up early, had the washing machine on before 9, whistled while I worked, hell I even provided some vocal accompaniment to the Four Tops as they went Loco Down in Acapulco on the Ken Bruce show!
And all because, this year, the post-summer holiday blues are being held at bay by the thought of our new house! Trying not to get too excited as although our offer has been verbally accepted, we are still awaiting the written acceptance. Our solicitor assures us there is nothing to worry about, so have been allowing myself a little day dream or two!
Much unpacking and 5 loads of washing later, D suggested that as it was the last day of his holiday, we go out for a run in the car. No prizes for guessing where we ended up! Yip, our New town!! Couldn't resist a quick drive past the house, just to make sure we still love it. We do! :)
As it was almost tea time, we decided to give what will be our local chippy, a test drive. Stopped in a little leafy lane close to Our New House to consume the fish suppers. YUMMEEEEE! Not only have we chosen a fab location, it also has a great chippy. Happy Days!
Had a little GULP moment when we realised that the next time we have a fish supper from that chippy, will probably be the day we move house!!!
Didn't drive the direct route to our new place and instead took one of a number of little back roads and took this pic a few minutes before we arrived. It made us realise, all over again, how lucky we will be to live in such a beautiful part of Scotland.
