Billingsgate Market

Today took me back to London. We were having an important meeting at the Billingsgate Fish Market. This is it calm - you should see the place at 5am !!!

It's a really interesting place with a long history - well not this building..

It used to be right on the banks of the Thames and many moons ago was the largest fish market in the world.

In the 80's it relocated down to Canary Wharf where it sits the odd man out amongst the banks and consulting firms of Docklands. I sure they love the smelll.....

This is the market just after the cleandown. It might not be a glamorous life, but it sure ain't boring !
