Driving over the forest on my way to work I came across a herd of cattle and sheep. I wouldn't have come across them had it not been for some unexpected road works; temporarily closing the main Hartfield road and causing me to turn back and take the road to Nutley instead.

This section of the forest is used quite regularly for grazing but I seldom travel it. Perhaps in future I might make the odd detour - road works or not.
