Scruffy is my middle name

Blackie's back! Not photographed him for a while and yes I'm now calling him Blackie 'Scruffy' Blackbird. Look at the state of him! Makes you realise how hard it must be being a wild creature and the trials and tribulations they go through every day.

The young Starlings are now starting to moult into their first adult feathers now (see here). And this is my very bad photo of a Swift. Still plenty of them about here but soon they will be heading south for the long journey to Africa. I know I'll definitely miss them when they're gone :(
