Must be mental...

Went out for a drive today and ended up at my old work.

Headed out there to get some blips of the old building but ended up leaving quite sad.

This was Hartwood Hospital and the old college of Nursing & Midwifery. Its been closed since December 1999, when I was the last person to close its doors.

Today once we got past the security guard and locked gates at the front, by going in a wee pathway I knew, we were greeted with this scene.

About halfway through walking about the grounds the police came but just u-turned and stared at us. The security guard then came over and said that we were lucky that they hadn't taken the camera off us as they don't like pictures being taken of the building.

They could have tried. What on earth do the police have with people taking pictures of an old knackered building?

The other building was destroyed in a fire about 4/5 years ago and looked a very sorry sight.

At least I still have my memories of the place.
