soviet art is the only art, aside from a sprinkling of sculptures and monuments, that i am aware of that exists in the public sphere in cherkassy. this mural is on the wall of the 'friendship of nations' culture palace (i don't think it's used any longer) on the main road that runs through the city. it depicts the soviet ideal of the republics of the USSR living alongside each other - in constructing, food production, child-bearing and music and the arts - in a generally harmonious fashion.
