Taken For Granted

So this is Southend-on-Sea's seafront.
With its theme park and its pier and it's estuary.

I've lived on it pretty much my whole life.

I very rarely go there. In fact, only about 3 times in as many years.

I took a friend here today who lives in Suffolk.
That's when it dawned on me that it's not a bad place.

Well, when you get past the chavs, 11 year old smoking single mums, the drunks, druggies and general dregs of the world.

As my friend so aptly put it, every town has it's weirdos. I responded with 'True, they just all seem to have migrated to Southend'.

Today, I experienced a woman pushing her dog around in a pram, a man who kept licking his hand and a...I actually don't know what gender it was...walking backwards down the high street, only occasionally stopping to do a star jump.
And that's a reasonably normal day.

Today I feel good :) my favourite team at work and a good day there. And the bevvie after work certainly went down well.

I also enjoyed coming home and finding out my comments and conversation with a couple of fellow blippers have kept my Mum and her friend entertained.
I'm glad to have been of some service :)
