Closed down

An image of the former Gatliff hostel at Gearrannan (Garenin) in Lewis, some 20 miles west of Stornoway. The hostel was permanently closed down on May 23rd this year, owing to the expiry of the lease and apparent heating issues. The Gatliff Hebridean Hostels Trust will be handing the building back to the owners by March next year. It is a pity that this budget accommodation is lost to the Outer Hebrides; four hostels now remain in Lewis.
