Had a lovely day. Have had staff leaving and some on holiday, so just two of us today.

One of my girls I feel very close to. She is 23 now and I have known her since she was 15. Having trained her in another place..(and another life) I really shouldn't form such a bond with staff, but this girl really is something special. When she was I teenager I felt she was like my little sister. These days I feel more like her mum, but She has had more than her fair share of problems and to be honest I have no idea how she handles it all. But she does. Every day.

She has helped me out a LOT this week with the lack of staff. Tonight, I got home, and she text me....

"thank you for everything. You really cheered me up this week xxxx"

I was touched. To say the very least. She wants to speak at our wedding. Very touching indeed. I like things like that. Make me smile.
