Bishop Wilton Green
Today was going to be a blip on a washing line, a washing line that the neighbours didn't like being there, but that changed when I came back into the village from taking Ruby to the vet at tea-time.
The village green was full of vintage tractors, tis the Wolds Vintage Rally this weekend at the Show-field and it would seem that the people who come along with their machines and vehicles have chosen to pop -oh dear- down to the pub for a quick pint.
Such fond memories of the days when Fishers Agricultural Engineers had combine harvesters and tractors out on the grass outside their workshop in the middle of the village, and the smell was awesome....tractor fumes.......ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Sadly I didn't get back in time to get the full picture so this will have to do...until next year.
If you are in the area and have an interest in vintage tractors and steam engines, it's worth a look tomorrow -Sunday 24th July- Bishop Wilton is situated 17 miles east of York, the rally is 1 mile south of the village
