From Dawn to...

Eddie

I remember the first time I heard a 'real' rock song. It was The Clairvoyant by Iron Maiden - and I was hooked.

I have been a Maiden fan for...well, since I heard this song in 1990. (It was released in 1988, but it took me a couple of years to catch up!) I have wondered why - and I think it is the same reason I love Pink Floyd - meaningful lyrics.

Body bags and little rags
Of children torn in two
The jellied brains of those who remain
Put the finger right on you

As the madmen play on words
And make us all dance to their song
To the tune of starving millions
To make a better kind of gun

What a way to say War is bad? - AND with drumming and guitars - and headbanging.

What more can a girl ask for?
