Light.

This was a light, a rather grand lampshade that was far from the average. It was a striking and unusual formation of light. One that I stumbled across during a day of fun exploration and discovery. Despite its anonymous appearances, I found it in an extremely famous location. High profile. A place of prestige, pretension and worldly significance. A world renowned location. Uninterested as I am in pretension and mainstream popularity, and being one to naturally do things off-beat, I found this light in a place that was tucked away, hidden, dark and mysterious. Despite its high profile global location, I wonder if it is even undiscovered by the millions of people walk under it and pass through its location day by day.

This light struck me in a deeper way, however. It struck me that this is a light that is rather large in size, inspiring to look at, intricately and remarkably designed and is positioned in a prominent place above the millions who walk under it very day. It is a light that is only all of these things if one takes the time to look up. Upwards. Above. Overhead. Without doing so, its beauty gets lost, its detail unnoticed.

Light is a powerful analogy in a whole range of contexts, spiritual or otherwise. Beliefs aside though, one simply cannot deny that light undoubtedly penetrates through darkness and without choice. Light always prevails. When light is present, darkness simply cannot exist. Light powerfully rids darkness. Light, like this particular chandelier, holds many naked and bold light bulbs, each displaying as much as light as they able and are designed to, all adding to its intricate and inspiring design through a powerful ray of light.
