Small Tortoiseshell
Aglais urticae
Not a mono blip today, as the hot sunshine and the oregano flowers at the allotment had brought out a host of these beauties. It is always a joy to see them (and the caterpillars eat nettles: result!)
There was also a male Meadow Brown about, which kept diving at the Tortoiseshells and engaging in dog-fights with them.
