School's Out!
This morning was Lewis's last day at primary school. The Leaver's Assembly was at 9am. The theme was "Are You Smarter Than A 10/11 Year Old?". Year 6 vs The Teachers. If Yr 6 lost, they couldn't leave school! It was hilarious. One round was maths. Another round was the first to lick the white from the inside of an Oreo biscuit (never eaten one in my life but it looked like the white was pretty difficult to lick!) and the above photo shows Lewis (pink wig for no reason!) and his fellow students sticking the correct label onto various body parts. All fun but then....then....the tears started with a powerpoint presentation showing the kids in Yr 6 at various phases throughout school life....their photos from reception up until present....and music such as "You've Got A Friend In Me" and "Friends Will Be Friends"...gulp, not a dry eye in the place!! Lewis has been upset today. It's a big thing to leave primary school but I'm sure that he will be fine after a couple of weeks in high school.
Had a walk in Haigh Hall with my friend, Kath, and her dog, Ruby. We found a stray dog but fortunately Kath half recognised it as being a dog from a local house and it was soon reunited with its owner. We were both in a rush to get back so we practically jogged the walk with our dogs trying to keep up (ha ha as if!!)
Had a nice evening in Manchester with Graham. There is now a jazz festival taking place in the city centre so it was quite surreal to be sat on deck chairs outside Manchester Town Hall listening to jazz!!
