Nordkapp

Nordkapp (North Cape) on the island of Magerøya in northern Norway. It's often referred to as the northernmost point of Europe, and it's certainly sold as that to the busloads of tourists who flock to the rather uninspiring visitor centre at the top left. The neighbouring promontory Knivskjellodden is actually further north but there are no roads to get there. Still, the cliffs at Nordkapp are impressive and more than 300 metres high. With a little vertigo, a bit of an inner ear condition which made me feel as though I were still on a boat and a considerable cocktail hangover, the rocks felt very unsteady indeed.
