Mmmmm algae

As I have mentioned previously we have a marine tank. About a month ago my husband thought it would be a nice idea to start cultivating rotifers to feed to the fish and corals.

So that's what we do now. We cultivate the planctonic little fellas by feeding them algae (that's what I'm pulling up into the syringe here) then every so often take 20ml of rotifers off to feed to the guys in the tank.

Apparently the fish love it as they are thriving... all I know is when it was mentioned that they were plankton I got all excited as Plankton is my favourite character in Spongebob...
