Ms. Hummie

We decided to put up three hummingbird feeders this year in hopes of encouraging several hummers. Well, that plan went way better than we expected - we have somewhere between 6-8 hummers competing for the feeders. When I went out on the deck this evening, I was being buzzed by hummers right and left. The frustrating thing is that they are extremely hard to photograph because they move so damned fast. This young female was kind enough to sit still for a few seconds, allowing me to get off at least one good shot out of about 200 that ended up in the delete file! By the way, she is a ruby-throated hummingbird, the only one that we get here in NJ.
