Flood waters

Last Friday night we had a record rainfall in Chicago, nearly 7 inches if rain overnight. There was so much lightening and thunder it was as if a strobe light was running outside while the thunder shook the house.

I had nearly finished a sump pump installation in our crawl space during the days leading up to the storm. But I fell one day short of completion before the rains came.

This is a picture under the house of our pumping out the 12 inches of water.

In the last couple of days I have finished the sump pump installation, have the dehumidifier running and the crawl space is drying out.

Can no longer boast of an in ground pool!
