Wonderful gift from wonderful friends

For my birthday, J&G came over and made us dinner and J baked me a cake! This was some pretty special treatment since he's the head chef at our favorite restaurant and she used to be a pastry chef and is a MEAN baker.

We had seared tuna served on a bed of braised onions, tomato salad and a soft boiled egg (all of my favorite things on one plate) and we had a gorgeous black forest cake for dessert. YUM! Of course all of this was accompanied by a perfect wine (picked by J, who is also a world class sommelier).

This is definitely one of the top birthdays ever. Maybe even the best one yet......
