End of an Era
Have been producing Press Releases for the RNLI today & this was the accompanying picture I took.
Our St Ives Lifeboat Coxswain/Mechanic, Tommy Cocking (centre) retires tomorrow after 38 years on the St Ives Lifeboat, the last 11 years as Coswain. He is now one of the most experienced and well respected Coxswains in the RNLI, and is one of the last lifeboat men still serving to have taken part in the rescues following the Fastnet disaster.
End of an era but the beginning of a new one, as Robert Cocking (Tommy's younger brother, left) takes over as Station Mechanic & Paul Whiston (Wiz, right) takes over as retained Coxswain.
You can see the full press release here.
